GOOD WORDS

Here are a few more press clips written about SheBANG!:

"Without a doubt, Kelly Jones' SheBANG! is my pick for Album of the Year. These well-crafted songs are full of catchy melodies, and each will stick with you making you play this record over and over again. Pure pop bliss!" - Adam Waltemire, Pop Garden Radio

"...So let us bring 'SheBANG' out into the light, shall we? To any of you who have, at one time or another, professed a great love of albums by Sam Phillips, Kirsty MacColl, Amy Rigby, Aimee Mann or Marti Jones (all of whom I dig, for the record), i hereby decree that 'SheBANG!' tops any album you may want to parade from these artists... Grade A+" - Notlame.com

"...'SheBANG!' clocks in at just under 28 minutes and all ten songs are fantastic. So catchy and melodic as if early 80's Marshall Crenshaw and The Bangles decided to work together. This might give you an idea of what an album full of pop gems sounds like... It will likely be one of our most played albums on the air this year joining the releases from Rachael Yamagata, The Pretenders, She & Him, Rick Springfield and Randy Newman." - Michael McCartney, "The Time Machine" KEAO / KONI / KPMW / KTOH

DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD

And here lies the challenge of making interesting music in today's marketplace:

"Her music is very much to my taste, but it's not that particularly marketable..." - one record executive who will remain nameless

VS.

"Kelly Jones - SheBANG! - **** - Definitely one of the best things I have heard in a while... As soon as the first song breaks from a short intro, i was hooked. This album seems to hit all the right notes at the right time for the right reasons. It fits so well. You can't help but fall in love with Kelly Jones and her fantastic album." - popunderground.com

NORTHWEST IN NOVEMBER

I'd forgotten what it felt like to walk outside and be overtaken by the smell of pine. What a smell! In and out you breathe it. Immediately your body tunes in to the experience. Your breathing is no longer an automatic response while doing other things. Now, it becomes the focus. It's so sweet. You close your eyes and take in a few deep, consecutive breaths. Relief. Somehow it makes you feel more alive. And the changing colors of the leaves... brilliant! There can be three different colors on one branch! Green where the branch meets the trunk, turning into orange and accelerating into a bright yellow at the tip.

One morning, my brother spotted a coyote in the back yard. He chased him back into the woods before my Dad could get the BB gun. Scare tactic. The beast was gone before i got to the window. I walked outside just to feel the grass underneath my feet. Wet and spongy.
